We are spending three weeks at Brasenose College in the heart of Oxford, where we are immersing ourselves in British Culture: the art and architecture, the history, the people, the customs, the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and textures. We are using our experiences to inspire our writing, and we are using our writing to widen and deepen our experiences. Our watchword is Pay attention! We are learning how to be present to what is in front of us, to pay sustained attention to the details, and later to pay attention to the words and images we use to capture those experiences. |
